Buyer FAQs

What happens to things left at the end of the sale?

We are asked this a lot, and it's a good question. First, we try to price things appropriately and negotiate where possible to minimize leftovers. However, there are always a few things left.

We sell on behalf of the client who owns the items; therefore, the final disposition of leftovers is at their discretion. Sometimes the client wishes to take over at this point and handle leftovers themselves. If they choose, we work them to locate a bulk or wholesale buyer who will buy out the remaining items. If you're interested in getting on our list for potential buy-outs, please let us know. However, buy-outs are not give-aways and usually require a clean sweep of what's left--no "cherry picking".

Do you allow previews and early sales?

We do not allow previews or early sales. Our contractual agreement with clients and our respect for all our customers requires that our advertising be factual and a true representation of what will be available at each sale. We are frequently asked to show an item and/or sell it prior to the advertised sale dates. As much as we might like to accomodate these requests, we feel it is important that each advertised item be available when the doors open. (NOTE: Infrequently our seller will pull an item from the sale after advertising goes out. We discourage this practice. When it does happen, we delete the item from online advertising and post a note to explain the item's removal.)

How and where do you advertise?

We like to cast a wide net to advertise our sales and we tailor advertising to best meet the needs of each client. This may include traditional print ads, our own website, estatesales.net, flyers, craigslist, signage and our own email newsletter list. Follow us on Facebook (Family Tree Estate Sales) and Twitter (@familytreesales).

The easiest way to follow our sales is by signing up for our newsletter. We look forward to seeing you at our next sale.
